Alacati – this former Greek village has become famous for its cobbled streets and beautiful old houses. It is located in the Cesme Peninsula and draws in many visitors each year. The prices can be a little high in the area but with restaurants serving some amazing food it is definitely worth a visit. It is an area that is not dominated by tourists and as such as retained a lot of its Turkish charm. The beach is about a mile out of the centre of Alacati and is one of the main attractions as these quaint little town offers no more than a few galleries and shops as well as the traditional Turkish restaurants.

Patara – this is longest beach in the whole of Turkey and is made from beautiful white sand. The waters are shallow and allow for children to paddle in the cool blue waters as well as providing a great location for those interested in body-boarding and surfing. There is a lovely local café that is reached by walking past the remains of a Roman city and here you can enjoy some wonderful food delights as well as hiring sun umbrellas and loungers for the day. The viewpoint is a must see and many visitors to this beach have described it as a once in a lifetime sight.

Oludeniz Lagoon – Also known as the Dead Sea the Oludeniz lagoon is an incredible sight and has been used by the local tourist boards and the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism as a part of their marketing materials. It is an unspoilt area of the country and the lagoon has a beautiful backdrop of mountains and pine trees. You can take in the delights of the waters or perhaps walk around the landscapes adjacent to it. It is a place that should be on every visitor to do list when taking a holiday to the country of Turkey.
